Year 10 Compulsory Online Computer Skills Test 2008.
- This year all year 10 students in NSW will complete the CST.
- The CST will be done online during the school certificate examination period in term 4.

- Official Practice Test - Students can access, at school only, the official BOS CST Practice Test. This is done by

Music Files and CD Music Policy - Copyright Information ©
- Students are not permitted to download music files, such as MP3s, from the Internet unless they have the written permission from the copyright owner and the download is for educational research and study.
- Students are not permitted to copy music files from a school computer to a personal MP3 player, or copy music files from a MP3 player to a school computer. (iPod is an example of a MP3 player)
- Students are not permitted to store music files on a school computer in their allocated server space. Students are not permitted to copy music files onto the school server (school computer) and allow other students to copy these files or copy files for other students.
- Students are allowed to use the following music files for multimedia research, projects and study - 1 track from a CD for multimedia purposes as directed by their teacher or an MP3 file from the Internet provided he/she can show written permission from the copyright owner.
Backup your Network Data.
- Students are reminded to back up all data stored on the network using a USB Flash Drive. At times data is lost on a network owing to a variety of reasons.
- We encourage you to take ownership of your data (assignments, drawing, photographs, etc) by backing up on a regular basis, for example, once a week.
- Please talk to your ICT teachers if you need assistance with this procedure.
- Password Protection - Do not give password details to anybody. Treat your network password the same way you treat your ATM pin number. Contact an ICT teacher if you believe someone else knows your network password.
Sharing of Files on the School Network - The 'File Storage on PC Server' folder.
- ‘Files storage on PC server’ is a sharing folder that has been set up to allow file sharing across the network. Staff can place a document in this folder to share with students. Students can place electronic documents in this folder for assessment purposes. Used correctly, it is an excellent resource for sharing work.
- Please be aware some students are using this folder for sharing music, this is in breach of copyright law. Some inappropriate photos, assignments and games are also being shared on this folder - this is definitely not allowed at JSCHS.
- We do regular scans of this folder and delete any inappropriate data, photos, music and applications.
- Please note: access rights to the network will be withdrawn for misuse of this folder - 'File Storage on PC Server'.
- Serious breaches of this sharing folder will be referred to the Student Welfare Coordinator.
